MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED AUGUST 18,2015 Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Barker, Brossard, Hemann, Kearney, Limpert, Schumann and Williamson Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Safety/Service Glauner, Director of Planning and Development Wenger and Director of Human Resources Farver Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road,North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. The Council meeting minutes of August 4, 2015 were approved as written. The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules this evening: Second Reading — Resolution 2015-52, Resolution 2015-53, Ordinance 2015-54 & Ordinance 2015-60; First Reading—Resolution 2015-65, Resolution 2015-66, Ordinance 2015-68 & Ordinance 2015-69. REPORTS Mayor Kennedy: • He swore in Firefighter Shlapack as he was promoted to Captain of the North Olmsted Fire Dept. • He thanked everyone who helped out and made the Bicentennial Boom! event a huge success. • St. John Westshore Hospital recently sponsored a Walking/Health Challenge between the senior centers of North Olmsted and Westlake. The challenge took place over a six week period, and the North Olmsted Senior Center was announced as the overall winner at a special awards ceremony and luncheon held at the hospital. The beautiful trophy is proudly displayed at the front desk at the senior center for all to enjoy. The thanked the hospital for sponsoring the eveng. • Homecoming will be held the last weekend in August (August 27th through the 30th) • He will be hosting a Frisbee Golf Tournament on Saturday, September 5, 2015. The first one hundred entries will receive a free Frisbee. • The Bicentennial Clambake and Golf Outing is scheduled for October 2, 2015. • Harmon Sign was awarded the City Facility Signage Project contract, which involves new ground signs at the WWTP, Recreation Center and Springvale. The pre-construction meeting was held today, and the project will be complete by the end of October.
