Council Minutes of 08-18-2015 <br /> • Molly Kelly resigned from her position as Secretary to the Service Director. She <br /> will be leaving mid-August but will continue to help out in the Mayor's Court <br /> part-time. <br /> • Time Szabo resigned from his position as Help Desk Coordinator. Tim has taken <br /> a job with a private sector IT firm. We wish him well in his new endeavor. <br /> • Phil Bova, Springvale's Superintendent, left early July to seek a new job <br /> opportunity. In his place, Davey Golf was hired to oversee the course <br /> maintenance until a new Superintendent is hired. <br /> Director of Law Gareau: <br /> • No report. <br /> Director of Finance Copfer: <br /> • She and Assistant Finance Director were presented an Award of Distinction for <br /> their 2014 audit by the State Auditor's office. <br /> The Finance Committee met Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 7:05 p.m. Present were <br /> committee members Kearney, Schumann and Barker; Council members Brossard, <br /> Hemann, Limpert and Williamson; Mayor Kennedy, Finance Director Copfer, Human <br /> Resources Director Farver and Planning/Development Director Wenger. <br /> • Discussed were Resolutions 2015-52 and 2015-53. Resolution 2015-52 is a <br /> Resolution approving of and authorizing the Mayor to enter into a Collective <br /> Bargaining Agreement with the American Federation of State, County and <br /> Municipal Employees ("AFSCME"), Ohio Council 8, Local 2681, for the service <br /> unit employees, for the period July 1, 2015, through June 30, 2018, and declaring <br /> an emergency. Resolution 2015-53 is a Resolution approving of and authorizing <br /> the Mayor to enter into a Collective Bargaining Agreement with the American <br /> Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees ("AFSCME"), Ohio <br /> Council 8, Local 2681, for the clerical and technical employees, for the period <br /> July 1, 2015, through June 30, 2018, and declaring an emergency. These two <br /> Resolutions allow the Administration to enter into a three-year agreement with the <br /> two branches of Local 2681. When the contracts are signed, the two percent raise <br /> will be retroactive to July 1, 2015. The committee voted 3-0 to recommend <br /> approval of both Resolution 2015-52 and 2015-53 with suspension. <br /> • Discussed last was Ordinance 2015-60 which is an Ordinance to make and <br /> transfer appropriations for current expenses and other expenditures for the City of <br /> North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 2015, and declaring an <br /> emergency. (Worksheet attached). The committee voted 3-0 to recommend <br /> approval of Ordinance 2015-60 with suspension. <br /> Councilman Kearney made a motion to amend Ordinance 2015-60. The motion was <br /> seconded by Councilman Barker and passed unanimously. Ordinance 2015-60 amended <br /> 7-0. <br /> Councilman Brossard, Chairman of the Recreation, Public Parks & Buildings Committee: <br /> 2 <br />
