Council Minutes of 01-19-2016 <br /> • Discussed first was CMS 15-4723 Starbucks located at 27910 Lorain Road. The <br /> proposal consists of demolition of the existing building on the northeast corner of <br /> Lorain and Dover Center Roads. A new building will be constructed of masonry <br /> and two full access curb cuts — one on Lorain and one on Dover. There was <br /> discussion regarding curb cuts and traffic pattern issues. The committee voted 3- <br /> 0 to recommend approval of CMS 15-4723 Starbucks. <br /> Councilman Schumann made a motion to recommend approval of CMS 15-4723 <br /> Starbucks located at 27910 Lorain Road subject to recommendations set forth by the <br /> Planning & Design Commission. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman <br /> Williamson and passed unanimously. CMS 15-4723 Starbucks approved 6-0. <br /> • Discussed last was CMS14-2222 Sunoco Gas Station located at 28925 Lorain <br /> Road. The proposal consists of building modifications and improvements. The <br /> committee voted 3-0 to recommend approval of CMS14-2222 Sunoco. <br /> Councilman Schumann made a motion to recommend approval of CMS 14-2222 Sunoco <br /> Gas Station located at 28925 Lorain Road subject to recommendations set forth by the <br /> Planning & Design Commission. The motion was seconded by Councilman Barker and <br /> passed unanimously. CMS14-2222 Sunoco approved 6-0. <br /> Councilman Limpert, Vice-Chairman of the Intra-Governmental Relations Committee: <br /> The Intra-Governmental Relations Committee met Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 7:10 <br /> p.m. Present were committee members Limpert and Kearney. The committee met to <br /> interview the Mayor's appointment of Jackie Chavez-Anderson to the Arts Commission. <br /> The committee voted 2-0 to recommend the Mayor's appointment. The meeting was <br /> adjourned at 7:15 p.m. <br /> Councilman Limpert made a motion to approve the Mayor's appointment of Jackie <br /> Chavez-Anderson to the Arts Commission for the term January 18, 2016 through <br /> December 31, 2017. The motion was seconded by Councilman Kearney and passed <br /> unanimously. Jackie Chavez-Anderson's appointed to the Arts Commission by a vote of <br /> 6-0. <br /> AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION <br /> Mark Mahoney, 26808 Fairfax Lane said he sent out an E-mail to Council earlier this <br /> evening. He takes no pleasure appearing before Council with bad news about city <br /> employees. He had the chance to speak to Ms. Wenger and he is satisfied that corrective <br /> action with regard to animal netting/fencing is being handled. He spoke with Council <br /> member Limpert as well. He wonders what Council's position is on the general <br /> competency of city employees. Mahoney addressed Councilman Barker and asked him <br /> his opinion on the general competency of city employees. Councilman Barker replied <br /> that as a part-time employee, he does not see the day-to-day operations. He can only <br /> reflect on reports and violations he reports to the Clerk of Council that go to the Building <br /> Dept. or any other department he has a complaint about. The response, in his opinion, <br /> has always been good. Mahoney clarified that Council does not have to manage the day <br /> 2 <br />
