MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br /> OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br /> FEBRUARY 2,2016 <br /> Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Brossard, Hemann, Kearney, <br /> Limpert, Schumann and Williamson <br /> Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, <br /> Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Safety & Service Glauner and Director <br /> of Human Resources Farver <br /> Absent: Council Member Barker <br /> Director of Planning & Development Wenger <br /> Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br /> 5200 Dover Center Road,North Olmsted, Ohio. <br /> Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br /> Allegiance. <br /> The Council meeting minutes of January 19, 2016 were approved as written. <br /> The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br /> this evening: Second Reading—Ordinance 2016-2 and Resolution 2016-3. <br /> REPORTS <br /> Mayor Kennedy: <br /> • The State of the City address will be Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Springvale <br /> Ballroom from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at <br /> www.celebratenortholmsted.com. <br /> • The first Fish Fry at Springvale will be Friday, February 12, 2016. These will be <br /> held every Friday through the Lenten season. <br /> • Memberships for the Recreation Center now include all fitness classes that are <br /> held at the facility, open ice skating and open swimming. <br /> • There are two new hires at the city. Bret Smith is a Facilities Maintenance <br /> Supervisor at Springvale. He has twenty-five years of public golf course <br /> experience and comes to North Olmsted from the City of Westlake. James <br /> Asbery is the Planner and works for Kim Wenger. He has a B.A. in Urban <br /> Studies and a Masters Degree in Public Administration. <br /> Director of Law Gareau: <br /> • He gave a brief update on the matter of Fatmeh Silmi v. Lauren Building <br /> Company, LLC, et al. which is a slip and fall case at the North Olmsted <br /> Recreation Center. <br />
