MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED FEBRUARY 2,2016 Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Brossard, Hemann, Kearney, Limpert, Schumann and Williamson Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Safety & Service Glauner and Director of Human Resources Farver Absent: Council Member Barker Director of Planning & Development Wenger Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road,North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. The Council meeting minutes of January 19, 2016 were approved as written. The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules this evening: Second Reading—Ordinance 2016-2 and Resolution 2016-3. REPORTS Mayor Kennedy: • The State of the City address will be Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Springvale Ballroom from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at www.celebratenortholmsted.com. • The first Fish Fry at Springvale will be Friday, February 12, 2016. These will be held every Friday through the Lenten season. • Memberships for the Recreation Center now include all fitness classes that are held at the facility, open ice skating and open swimming. • There are two new hires at the city. Bret Smith is a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor at Springvale. He has twenty-five years of public golf course experience and comes to North Olmsted from the City of Westlake. James Asbery is the Planner and works for Kim Wenger. He has a B.A. in Urban Studies and a Masters Degree in Public Administration. Director of Law Gareau: • He gave a brief update on the matter of Fatmeh Silmi v. Lauren Building Company, LLC, et al. which is a slip and fall case at the North Olmsted Recreation Center.
