Council Minutes of 02-02-2016 <br /> • A robbery took place at Great Northern Mall and an apprehension of two suspects <br /> were made. This is the third high profile crime in North Olmsted with action <br /> taken almost immediately by the Police Dept. to apprehend the suspects due to <br /> good police work. <br /> • Mr. Bielozer was convicted in Common Pleas Court today. He made a plea <br /> agreement with the Cuyahoga County Prosecutors Office; he plead to a <br /> misdemeanor and agreed to never work as a police officer in the State of Ohio <br /> again. <br /> Director of Finance Copfer: <br /> • On January 26, 2016, the year-to-date expenditure and revenue summary and <br /> detail reports were E-mailed to Council and the Administration. She will be <br /> discussing the results in conjunction with the budget hearings as well as the 2016 <br /> assumptions and availability of funds at that time. <br /> • The Finance Dept. has prepared and mailed out W-2's. They were able to prepare <br /> the 1095 C's which is a new reporting requirement that shows the city is offering <br /> health insurance to employees and dependents that qualify for this. <br /> • She pointed out to Council that if they are looking at last year's expenditures, <br /> there were twenty-seven pays. So, please keep this in mind because salaries will <br /> seem higher. <br /> Councilman Kearney, Chairman of the Finance Committee: <br /> The Finance Committee met Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 7:20 p.m. Present were <br /> committee members Kearney, Schumann and Barker; Council members Brossard, <br /> Hemann Limpert and Williamson; Mayor Kennedy, Finance Director Copfer and <br /> Planning & Development Director Wenger. <br /> • Discussed first was Ordinance 2016-1 which is an Ordinance providing for the <br /> issuance and sale of not to exceed $1,605,000 of Notes, in anticipation of the <br /> issuance of Bonds, to provide funds to pay costs of improving Barton Road and <br /> certain other designated streets between certain termini in the city by <br /> reconstructing and rehabilitating the pavement base, adjusting, constructing and <br /> reconstructing catch basins, curbs and curb ramps, manholes and utility valve and <br /> monument boxes, where necessary, preparing the surface and resurfacing, in each <br /> case together with necessary appurtenances and work incidental thereto. The <br /> money will be used for much needed improvement on North Olmsted's streets. <br /> The committee voted 3-0 to recommend approval of Ordinance 2016-1. <br /> • Discussed last was Resolution 2016-2 which is an Ordinance to make and transfer <br /> appropriations for current expenses and other expenditures for the City of North <br /> Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 2016, and declaring an emergency. <br /> The two major transfers were into the Bond Retirement Fund and Sewer Revenue <br /> Fund for the Bradley Lift Station (worksheet attached).
