DEMOLITION <br />PART 1.00 — GENERAL <br />1.01 SCOPE OF WORK: <br />A. WORK INCLUDED: The Contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, materials, <br />equipment and services to remove reinforced concrete from the areas shown on <br />the plans including: <br />1. Portions of existing floor slab. <br />2. Portions of the existing tank wall. <br />3. The existing cantilevered concrete walkway on the west side of the <br />building. <br />1.02 APPLICABLE CODES AND STANDARDS: <br />A. CODES: All work specified under this Section shall comply with the following <br />codes: <br />1. Ohio Building Code <br />2. Local Codes <br />B. OSHA: All work specified under this Section shall comply with applicable <br />requirements of the William -Steiger Occupational Safety and Health Act. <br />PART 2.00 — EXECUTION <br />2.01 EXISTING CONDITIONS: <br />A. PROJECT PLANS: Plans have been developed based on original construction <br />drawings. Copies of these plans are available and Contractors are encouraged to <br />visit the Wastewater Treatment Plant site to familiarize themselves with the <br />project site. The plant will remain operational at all times. <br />B. CONCRETE REMOVAL: <br />1. Cut Line Construction Joint Preparation: Saw cut boundaries of proposed <br />concrete removals 1 inch deep. Remove concrete to a rough surface. <br />Install dowel bars if specified. Prior to concrete placement abrasively <br />clean joint surfaces. Thoroughly clean the joint surface and exposed <br />reinforcement of all dirt, dust, rust or other foreign material by the use of <br />water, air under pressure, or other methods that produce satisfactory <br />
