Substructure Concrete Removal: Remove concrete by means of approved <br />pneumatic hammers employing pointed and blunt chisel tools. Hydraulic <br />hoe -ram type hammers will not be permitted. The weight of the hammer <br />shall not be more than 35 pounds for removal within 18 inches of portions <br />to be preserved. Outside the 18 inch limit, the contractor may use <br />hammers not exceeding 90 pounds upon the approval of the engineer. Do <br />not place pneumatic hammers in direct contact with reinforcing steel that <br />is to be retained in the rebuilt structure. <br />CAST -IN-PLACE CONCRETE <br />PART 1.00 — GENERAL <br />1.01 SCOPE OF WORK: This specification covers the furnishing of all material, equipment, <br />accessories, tools, services, transportation, labor, and supervision required for the <br />supply and installation of cast in place concrete. <br />A. CONCRETE: Unless otherwise indicated, concrete shall be normal weight (150 <br />pcf) ready -mixed concrete, conforming to ASTM C94. <br />B. CERTIFICATION: The concrete manufacturer shall certify that the concrete <br />delivered conforms to the specification for Ready -Mixed Concrete ASTM C94, <br />and furnish the certification specified in Par. 14 of ASTM C94. <br />
