MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br /> OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br /> APRIL 19, 2016 <br /> Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Barker, Brossard, Hemann, <br /> Kearney, Limpert, Schumann and Williamson <br /> Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Clerk of Council Gallo, <br /> Director of Safety & Service Glauner, Director of Planning & <br /> Development Wenger& Director of Human Resources Farver <br /> Absent: Director of Law Gareau <br /> Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br /> 5200 Dover Center Road,North Olmsted, Ohio. <br /> Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br /> Allegiance. <br /> The Council meeting minutes of April 5, 2016 were approved as written. <br /> The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br /> this evening: Second Reading—Resolution 2016-41. <br /> REPORTS <br /> Mayor Kennedy: <br /> • Earth Fair is this Sunday, April 24, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at North <br /> Olmsted Park. Join us at this family-friendly event celebrating environmental <br /> awareness and sustainability featuring market vendors, food trucks, children's <br /> recycling crafts and games, a petting zoo, an alpaca petting area, a creepy-crawly <br /> insect station, a tropical music performance, an upcycled "selfie-station" and <br /> more. <br /> • The city has been awarded the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District Recycle <br /> Grant. The Service Department will be distributing yard waste bags. Residents <br /> can pick up 10 bags on a first come, first serve basis and will be given ten bags <br /> per household. <br /> • The city's curbside brush chipping scheduled is posted on the city's website. The <br /> schedule lists the weeks by Ward for chipping services. The first city-wide sweep <br /> will be the week of April 25th <br /> • Republic Services yard waste program began April 11, 2016 and will run through <br /> December 1, 2016. <br /> • Community Shred Day is April 23, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until noon at the North <br /> Olmsted Police Department's parking lot. This event is for North Olmsted <br /> residents only and identification is required. <br />
