We wish him well. <br /> • The Citizen of the Year Dinner is this Thursday, April 21, 2016. <br /> • Yesterday, fifty high school students came to Council Chambers who have <br /> volunteered to walk the city to promote the Recreation Center and membership <br /> programs that are offered. <br /> Councilman Barker asked the Mayor if the students were informed to not knock on <br /> residences that have "No Solicitors" stickers. Mayor Kennedy said the students were <br /> informed, and they all have identification badges. <br /> Director of Law Gareau: <br /> • No report in his absence. <br /> Director of Finance Copfer: <br /> • No report. <br /> Councilman Kearney, Chairman of the Finance Committee: <br /> The Finance Committee met Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 7:20 p.m. Present were <br /> committee members Kearney, Schumann and Barker; Council President Jones; Council <br /> members Brossard, Hemann, Limpert and Williamson; Safety & Service Director <br /> Glauner. <br /> • Discussed first was Resolution 2016-41 which is a Resolution authorizing the <br /> Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to <br /> provide construction services for the Police Station HVAC replacement project, <br /> as detailed in the specifications on file with the City Engineer, and authorizing the <br /> Mayor, following approval of the Board of Control, to contract for the same with <br /> the lowest and best bidder. This was discussed at length, and the committee voted <br /> 3-0 to recommend the approval of Resolution 2016-41 with suspension. <br /> • Discussed next was Ordinance 2016-42 which is an Ordinance making <br /> appropriation and authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids <br /> for the award of a contract to demolish an existing structure and construct a new <br /> metal prefabricated building on the site of the former primary tank Number One <br /> Building at the Waste Water Treatment Plant, as detailed in the specifications on <br /> file with the Engineer, and authorizing the Mayor, following approval of the <br /> Board of Control, to contract for the same with the lowest and best bidder. This <br /> project is part of the WWTP updates and renovations. The committee voted 3-0 <br /> to recommend approval of Ordinance 2016-42. <br /> • Discussed last was Resolution 2016-45 which is a Resolution authorizing the <br /> Mayor to enter into a contract with the Russ Bassett Company to purchase <br /> consoles and special equipment designed for the North Olmsted Police and Fire <br /> Central Dispatch Center; and further authorizing the Mayor to execute all <br /> documents necessary to effectuate such purchase, and declaring an emergency. <br /> This contract was conducted through a government bid. This furniture will help <br /> our safety services do what they do best — look out for the safety and well-being <br /> of the city's residents and visitors. The committee voted 3-0 to recommend <br /> approval of Resolution 2016-45. <br /> 2 <br />
