CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2016 — 48 By: Mayor Kennedy AN ORDINANCE AMENDING VARIOUS SECTIONS OF CHAPTER ONE OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TITLED "ADMINISTRATIVE CODE" FOR THE PURPOSE OF (1) REMOVING REFERENCE TO ABOLISHED BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS, AND (2) REASSIGNING DUTIES PREVIOUSLY UNDERTAKEN BY THE ABOLISHED POSITION OF CLERK OF COMMISSIONS, AND (3) UPDATING EMPLOYEE TITLES, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the electors of the City of North Olmsted in November of 2015 approved a proposed amendment to the Charter of the City of North Olmsted to merge the Board of Building Code Appeals and the Board of Zoning Appeals to form a new Building and Zoning Board of Appeals; and WHEREAS, multiple sections of the Administrative Code make reference to the now abolished Board of Building Code Appeals and Board of Zoning Appeals; and WHEREAS, the Administrative Code continues to reference the Clerk of Commissions notwithstanding the fact that this position has been eliminated; and WHEREAS, the Administrative Code continues to reference the Ethics Commission, the Community Life Services Advisory Board, the Board of Zoning Appeals, the Cultural Activities Commission and the Board of Building Code Appeals, notwithstanding the fact that these boards have been eliminated or amended; and WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Planning and Development and the Director of Law that the Administrative Code be amended to substitute the newly enacted Building and Zoning Board of Appeals for the Board of Building Code Appeals and Board of Zoning Appeals; and WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Planning and Development and the Director of Law that the Administrative Code be amended to remove reference to the Clerk of Commissions; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to otherwise amend the Code in order to remove reference to abolished boards and commissions.
