<br />1.06 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING
<br />A. Deliver materials in unopened labeled packages.
<br />B. Store materials in location protected from freezing or damages.
<br />C. Reject and remove from the site materials within broken or damaged packaging.
<br />PART 2 -- PRODUCTS
<br />2.01 MATERIALS
<br />A. Sealants
<br />1. Type 1: Multi-component, non -sag, low -modulus polyurethane rubber sealant
<br />meeting ASTM C-920, Type M, Grade NS, Class 25, use NT,M, A, and O. Capable
<br />of withstanding 50% in extension or compression such as Sikaflex-2C NS/SL, Sika
<br />Corporation, or Sonolastic NP -2, Sonneborn, or DynaTrol II by Pecora Corporation.
<br />2. Type 2: Single component polyurethane sealant meeting ASTM C-920, Type S,
<br />Grade NS, Class 25, Use NT, M, A, and O. Capable of withstanding 25% in
<br />extension or compression such as Sikaflex 1A by Sika Corporation, DynaTrol 1 -XL
<br />by Pecora Corporation, or Sonolastic NP -1 by BASF Construction Chemicals.
<br />3. Type 3: Single component, low -modulus moisture curing silicone meeting ASTM
<br />C-920, Type S, Grade NS, Class 25, Use NT,M, G, and A. Capable of withstanding
<br />50% extension and compression. Pecora 890 by Pecora Corporation, Sonolastic
<br />Omni Seal by BASF Construction Chemicals.
<br />4. Type 4: Single component, mildewresistant,moisture-cu ring siliconemeeting ASTM
<br />C-920, Type S, Grade NS, Class 25, Use NT, M, G, and A. Pecora 898 by Pecora
<br />Corporation, Sonolastic Omni Plus by BASF Construction Chemicals.
<br />5. Type 5: Single component, acrylic latex meeting ASTM C-834. AC -20+ Silicone by
<br />Pecora Corporation, Sonneborn Sonolac by BASF Construction Chemicals.
<br />6. Type 6: High grade butyl sealantmeeting Federal Specification TT -S-00-1657. BC -
<br />158 by Pecora Corporation or equal.
<br />7. Type 7: Multi-component chemical resistant polysulfide sealant conforming to ASTM
<br />C-920, Type M, Grade NS, Class 25 such as Deck -O -Seal by W.R. Meadows,
<br />Tammsflex by Tamms, or Synthacalk GC2+ by Pecora Corporation.
<br />8. Type 8: Nonsag, Multi Component, traffic grade polyurethane sealant meeting
<br />ASTM C920, Type 19, Grate NS, Class 25, use T, M, A, and O. DynaTread by
<br />Pecora Corporation, Sonolastic Ultra by BASF Construction Chemicals.
<br />B. Primer: Non -staining primer recommended by sealant manufacturer for the substrates on
<br />this project.

<br />C. Backer Rod: Closed cell foam, nonreactive with caulking materials, non -oily, and approved
<br />by the sealantmanufacturer. Minimum density shall be 3.24 pounds per cubic foot. Use no
<br />asphalt or bitumen -impregnated fiber with sealants.
<br />D. Joint Cleaner: Recommended by sealant or caulking compound manufacturer.
<br />E. Bond breaker: Either polyethylene film or plastic tape as recommended by the sealant
<br />manufacturer.
<br />F. Color: Where manufacturer's standard colors do not closelymatch materials being sealed,
<br />provide a custom color.
<br />PART 3 -- EXECUTION
<br />3.01 QUALITY CONTROL
<br />A. Coordinate work with details shown on approved shop drawings prepared by other trades.
<br />B. Verify conditions in the field.
<br />C. Schedule work to follow closely the installation of other trades.
<br />D. Apply sealants and related items in temperatures and dry conditions recommended by the
