MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br /> OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br /> MAY 17, 2016 <br /> Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Barker, Brossard, Hemann, <br /> Kearney, Limpert, Schumann and Williamson <br /> Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Law Gareau, <br /> Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Safety & Service Glauner, Director of <br /> Planning & Development Wenger & Director of Human Resources Farver <br /> Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br /> 5200 Dover Center Road,North Olmsted, Ohio. <br /> Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br /> Allegiance. <br /> The Council meeting minutes of April 19, 2016 were approved as written. <br /> The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br /> this evening: Second Reading—Ordinance 2016-46; First Reading—Resolution 2016-53 <br /> REPORTS <br /> Mayor Kennedy: <br /> • Mr. Scouting and Mrs. Scouting were presented with Proclamations. The <br /> Honorary Officials for All Scouts Day 2016 were announced. <br /> • Detective Sergeant Bob Wagner of the North Olmsted Police Dept. is graduating <br /> from the Police Executive Leadership College on Friday, May 20, 2016. He <br /> congratulated him on a job well done. <br /> • The 15th annual Ice Show is May 20, 2016 through May 22, 2016. <br /> • City offices will be closed Monday, May 30, 2016 in observance of Memorial <br /> Day. <br /> • The North Olmsted Community Scholarship Run is June 4, 2016 in North <br /> Olmsted Park. Call his Administrative Assistant, Becki Kovach, or sign-up at <br /> www.hermescleveland.com. <br /> Director of Law Gareau: <br /> • He spoke about an OVI case in which DNA analysis from the airbags had proven <br /> that the gentleman that initially claimed that he was the passenger—the gentleman <br /> he claimed was the driver died in the car accident — was actually the driver of the <br /> vehicle. He commended the police work that was done on this case. <br /> Director of Finance Copfer: <br /> • The first quarter reviews along with the summary and detail reports were E- <br /> mailed to Council last week. <br /> • The AT&T contract for the city phone lines was up. They did some research <br /> before they signed a 36-month two-line commitment with Centrex. Plans for the <br />
