MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br /> OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br /> JUNE 7, 2016 <br /> Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Barker, Brossard, Hemann, <br /> Kearney, Limpert and Williamson <br /> Also Present: Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Law Gareau, Clerk of Council <br /> Gallo, Director of Safety & Service Glauner, Director of Planning & <br /> Development Wenger& Director of Human Resources Farver <br /> Absent: Council Member Schumann <br /> Mayor Kennedy <br /> Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br /> 5200 Dover Center Road,North Olmsted, Ohio. <br /> Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br /> Allegiance. <br /> The Council meeting minutes of May 17, 2016 were approved as written. <br /> The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br /> this evening: Second Reading — Ordinance 2016-51, Ordinance 2016-55, Resolution <br /> 2016-59 and Ordinance 2016-60; First Reading — Resolution 2016-71 and Resolution <br /> 2016-73. <br /> Council President Jones announced the passing of former Councilman and Council <br /> President Dewey Limpert. She asked for a moment of silence to remember Dewey <br /> Limpert as he served many years as a public servant to the City of North Olmsted. <br /> REPORTS <br /> Council President Jones swore in new Firefighter, Matthew Zimmerman, on behalf of <br /> Mayor Kennedy. <br /> Mayor Kennedy: <br /> • No report in his absence. <br /> Director of Law Gareau: <br /> • On May 18, 2016, the City of North Olmsted received a copy of a lawsuit filed in <br /> the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas against the city by Ted Bowman <br /> against a number of police officers of the North Olmsted Police Dept. Gareau <br /> gave a brief explanation of the case. During a call for police service at a home, <br /> the police did not arrest an individual who had an outstanding warrant. After the <br /> police left, another occupant of the home came home and was assaulted by the <br /> person with the outstanding warrant. The claim is by failing to arrest the person <br />
