MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br /> OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br /> JUNE 21, 2016 <br /> Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Hemann, Kearney, Limpert, <br /> Schumann and Williamson <br /> Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Law Gareau, <br /> Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Safety & Service Glauner, Director of <br /> Planning & Development Wenger& Director of Human Resources Farver <br /> Absent: Council Member Barker <br /> Council Member Brossard <br /> Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br /> 5200 Dover Center Road,North Olmsted, Ohio. <br /> Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br /> Allegiance. <br /> The Council meeting minutes of June 7, 2016 were approved as written. <br /> The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br /> this evening: Second Reading—Ordinances 2016-65, 2016-66, 2016-67 & 2016-70. <br /> REPORTS <br /> Mayor Kennedy: <br /> • He introduced Jim Myers, the new Commander of the VFW Post 7647 and read a <br /> brief biography about him. Myers introduced himself to Council (letter is <br /> attached to these minutes). <br /> • The North Olmsted Community Scholarship Race was Saturday June 4, 2016. <br /> Both the weather and turnout were great. He thanked all of the sponsors of the <br /> race. <br /> • The North Olmsted 2016 Boom is scheduled for Sunday, July 3, 2016. <br /> • North Olmsted homeowners of houses fifty years or older are eligible for the <br /> Heritage Home Program which begins July 1, 2016. The program offers free <br /> home repair maintenance and advice, personalized site visits and access to 2% <br /> fixed interest financing. To schedule a free visit, contact Heritage Home Program <br /> staff at heritagehomeprogram.org. Residents with homes fifty years and older <br /> should be receiving a letter in the mail. <br /> • On May 9, 2016 Marty Hayes resigned from the Civil Service Commission and <br /> will be missed. He has been replaced by Bill Brake, who has served on the Arts <br /> Commission. <br /> • He thanked Fatheads for their generous contribution to the North Olmsted Food <br /> Pantry. <br />
