Council Minutes of 08-02-2016
Resolution 2016-79 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Kennedy. A
Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the North Olmsted City
School District in order to provide for right of entry and authorizing the City to
commence construction of the Pine School Basin Improvement Project, and declaring an
emergency. Councilman Barker made a motion to suspend the rules requiring three
readings as this was discussed in the Public Safety Committee. The motion was
seconded by Councilman Brossard and passed unanimously.
Dennis Lambert, 25057 Carey Lane addressed the words to commence construction as
written in the Resolution. He has been against this idea from the beginning. It has begun
as the City suing the people; suing themselves. There's money wasted on the school side
of this that should be going to education instead of litigation. There's waste of taxpayer
money with the Mayor suing the school. This theory is not based on sound, scientific
engineering or topographical surveys. There's a good possibility that this project could
be counterproductive. There is no study about the hydraulic integrity of this plan.
Councilman Barker moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman
Brossard and passed unanimously. Resolution 2016-79 adopted 7-0.
MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS
Councilman Schumann scheduled a BZD Committee meeting for Tuesday, August 9,
2016 at 7:00 p.m. to discuss Ganley Honda. The Planning & Development Director is
asked to attend.
Councilman Kearney scheduled a Committee of the Whole meeting for Tuesday, August
9, 2016 at 7:15 p.m. to discuss Ordinance 2016-76. The Planning & Development
Director is asked to attend.
Councilman Limpert scheduled an Environmental Control Committee for Tuesday,
August 9, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. to discuss Ordinance 2016-77. The Finance Director and
City Engineer are asked to attend.
Council President Jones announced a Committee of the Whole meeting for Tuesday,
August 23, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. to discuss the Zoning Code Project Update and the Old
Town Hall project.
With the agenda being completed and there being no further business to come before
Council, President Jones adjourned the Council meeting at approximately 8:34 p.m.
A-j, 7
e,_A 7
Marie allo, Clerk of Council . reeh,D•ai+e -Junes, h ,LL.iit of Council
Dili - '1) ; --f-t a&
6
