CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2016 — 88 BY: Mayor Kennedy A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT TO SOLICIT BIDS FOR THE DEMOLITION AND REMOVAL OF DANGEROUS BUILDINGS LOCATED AT 30399 LORAIN ROAD AS A PUBLIC NUISANCE, AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE COSTS TO BE CERTIFIED AS A TAX LIEN UPONSAID REAL PROPERTY PURSUANT TO SECTION 1363.108 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Building Commissioner has determined that the buildings located at 30399 Lorain Road, North Olmsted, OH 44070 are both dangerous and constitute a public nuisance as defined by NOCO §1363.108 and 1364.107 and, due to the extensive deterioration of these vacant and unsafe structures, has ordered demolition and removal thereof to abate the nuisance; and WHEREAS, the Building Commissioner has, in accordance with NOCO §1363.108.2 and 1364.107.1, issued notification to the property owner, lienholders or others having an interest in said property as to the determination of dangerous buildings, existence of nuisance conditions and ordered abatement by demolition; and WHEREAS, although notified in accordance with law, said property owner, lienholders and others having an interest have failed to comply with said repair/demolition Order for more than one hundred and fifty (150) days, have not otherwise objected to the demolition Orders, and have failed to appeal from the determination of the Building Commissioner; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council, in accordance with NOCO § 1363.108 and 1364.107, to cause the dangerous buildings located at 30399 Lorain Road in the City of North Olmsted to be demolished and removed in order to abate the public nuisance arising therefrom and to further cause the costs of demolition and removal to be certified and placed upon the tax duplicate of the premises as a lien upon said premises; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Director of Planning and Development be and she is hereby authorized to proceed with, arrange for, and initiate all reasonable measures, either directly or through the Building Commissioner, to solicit bids for demolition and removal of all dangerous buildings located at 30399 Lorain Road, City of North Olmsted, based upon demolition Orders issued pursuant to Chapters 1363 and 1364 of the Codified Ordinances, and based on the finding of this Council that it is necessary for the City of
