MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />SEPTEMBER 20, 2016 <br />Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Barker, Brossard, Hemann, <br />Kearney, Limpert, Schumann & Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Law Gareau, <br />Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Safety & Service Glauner & Director <br />of Planning & Development Wenger <br />Absent: Director of Human Resources Farver <br />Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The Council meeting minutes of September 6, 2016, special Council meeting minutes of <br />September 7, 2016 and September 14, 2016 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br />this evening: Second Reading — Ordinance 2016-89; First Reading — Resolution 2016-92 <br />Councilman Barker suspended Rule 58 of the Rules of Council. The motion was <br />seconded by Councilman Kearney and passed unanimously. Rule 58 suspended by a vote <br />of 7-0. <br />Councilman Barker made a motion to approve Mayor Kennedy's appointment of Marie <br />Gallo to the position of Director of Human Resources. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilman Kearney and passed unanimously. Marie Gallo appointed as Mayor <br />Kennedy's Director of Human Resources by a vote of 7-0. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• He swore in Marie Gallo as Human Resources Director effective October 1, 2016. <br />• He invited everyone to come out to Great Northern Mall on Wednesday, October <br />5, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. to a launch event to transform the mall into a community <br />event about art, culture, food, wellness and fitness activities. This event will be <br />held in the area of the mall by the department store, Sears. Saturday, October 8, <br />2016 will feature more community engagement events as well. <br />Councilman Barker said that it's Council's loss and the Administration's gain. Marie has <br />been a great Clerk for City Council, and the Administration will be very happy with her. <br />
