MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED SEPTEMBER 20, 2016 Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Barker, Brossard, Hemann, Kearney, Limpert, Schumann & Williamson Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Law Gareau, Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Safety & Service Glauner & Director of Planning & Development Wenger Absent: Director of Human Resources Farver Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. The Council meeting minutes of September 6, 2016, special Council meeting minutes of September 7, 2016 and September 14, 2016 were approved as written. The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules this evening: Second Reading — Ordinance 2016-89; First Reading — Resolution 2016-92 Councilman Barker suspended Rule 58 of the Rules of Council. The motion was seconded by Councilman Kearney and passed unanimously. Rule 58 suspended by a vote of 7-0. Councilman Barker made a motion to approve Mayor Kennedy's appointment of Marie Gallo to the position of Director of Human Resources. The motion was seconded by Councilman Kearney and passed unanimously. Marie Gallo appointed as Mayor Kennedy's Director of Human Resources by a vote of 7-0. REPORTS Mayor Kennedy: • He swore in Marie Gallo as Human Resources Director effective October 1, 2016. • He invited everyone to come out to Great Northern Mall on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. to a launch event to transform the mall into a community event about art, culture, food, wellness and fitness activities. This event will be held in the area of the mall by the department store, Sears. Saturday, October 8, 2016 will feature more community engagement events as well. Councilman Barker said that it's Council's loss and the Administration's gain. Marie has been a great Clerk for City Council, and the Administration will be very happy with her.
