CITY ordinances and state law. <br />1.2 In consideration for providing the basic services, the CITY shall pay the <br />BUILDING COMMISSIONER a retaining fee in the sum of Fifty Seven Thousand Five <br />Hundred Dollars ($57,500.00) per annum. The retaining fees shall be paid on a biweekly basis <br />commencing upon the effective date of this Agreement, and the amounts shall be subject to the <br />contribution by the CITY and said building official, respectively, to PERS. In consideration of <br />said retaining fees, the BUILDING COMMISSIONER shall provide the following basic <br />services: <br />(a) BUILDING COMMISSIONER shall give information and advice, as needed and <br />as directed and/or authorized by the Director of Planning and Development, to <br />Council, the Mayor, Directors and Division Heads, residents, builders, etc. and <br />other administrative officials on issues that arise in the CITY pertaining to <br />building, zoning, planning and development, etc. <br />(b) BUILDING COMMISSIONER shall review, as needed and as directed and/or <br />authorized by the Director of Planning and Development, formative or <br />preliminary sketches, development proposals, layouts, estimates or reports, <br />concerning the presentation of commercial or residential development plans as <br />well as any public improvements contemplated by the CITY. <br />(c) BUILDING COMMISSIONER shall make recommendations, as directed and/or <br />authorized by the Director of Planning and Development, regarding the building <br />features of development plans, including review for compliance with building and <br />zoning codes and supervise staff in the performance of such review as building <br />official. <br />(d) BUILDING COMMISSIONER shall be available and accessible to the Director <br />of Planning and Development and to such other public officials as are authorized <br />by the Director of Planning and Development a minimum of sixteen (16) hours <br />per week. <br />(e) BUILDING COMMISSIONER shall maintain office hours and shall be present at <br />City Hall for a minimum of twelve (12) hours per week, and shall further ensure <br />that he is at all times available and accessible to the Director of Planning and <br />Development.
