CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2016 —118 <br />BY: Mayor Kennedy <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 8 AND 9 OF <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2002-103 WHICH, INTER ALTA, <br />ESTABLISHED FEES AND CHARGES FOR EMERGENCY <br />MEDICAL SERVICES RENDERED BY THE NORTH <br />OLMSTED FIRE DEPARTMENT, IN ORDER TO PROVIDE <br />FOR THOSE REVENUES RECEIVED FOR ALL SERVICES <br />RENDERED TO BE PAID FIFTY PERCENT (50%) INTO <br />THE GENERAL FUND AND FIFTY PERCENT (50%) INTO <br />THE EMERGENCYMEDICAL SERVICES FUND. <br />WHEREAS, in 2002 Council adopted Ordinance No. 2002-103, which, inter alfa, <br />established fees and charges for emergency medical services rendered by the North Olmsted Fire <br />Department, and designated the funds into which revenues received from services rendered to <br />residents as well as non-residents were to be paid (one hundred percent (100%) of revenue from <br />non-residents to Hotel Motel Tax Fund; seventy-five Percent (75%) of revenue from residents to <br />General Fund; and twenty-five Percent (25%) of revenue from residents to the Emergency <br />Medical Services Fund); and <br />WHEREAS, in 2002 Council adopted Ordinance No. 2002-154, which amended the fee <br />schedule (Section 3) of Ordinance No. 2002-103; and <br />WHEREAS, facing an economic downturn in 2008, Council amended Section 8 of 2002- <br />103 for the purpose of directing that one hundred percent (100%) of funds received from <br />Emergency Medical Services rendered to residents and non-residents be directed into the General <br />Fund; and <br />WHEREAS, in order to provide for a sustaining fund from which to make capital <br />purchases for emergency medical service facilities and equipment, it is the recommendation of the <br />Mayor and the Director of Finance that fifty percent (50%) of the revenue received for providing <br />emergency medical services be paid into the General Fund and that fifty percent (50%) of the <br />revenue received for providing emergency medical services be paid into the Emergency Medical <br />Services Fund; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council, acting upon the recommendation of the <br />Administration, to accordingly amend Sections 8 and 9 of Ordinance No. 2002-103, as previously <br />amended by Ordinance Nos. 2002-154 (fee schedule) and 2008-95 (allocation of revenue), to <br />provide that fifty percent (50%) of the revenue received for emergency medical services provided <br />be paid into the General Fund and that fifty percent (50%) of the revenue received for emergency <br />medical services provided be paid into the Emergency Medical Services Fund. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />
