She said the repairs had an asphalt and stone mixture
patched into the holes and it is not holding well. She said it is kicking up stones which are
hitting cars and making it unsafe for the children to play on the street.
Mayor Kennedy replied the Safety and Service Director had planned to go out there
tomorrow morning to check it out.
Ms. McKenney also discussed a foreclosed property at 24166 Ambour Drive. She said
the residents are curious what is happening with the property. She stated it has been
foreclosed on for about three years now and someone is somewhat maintaining it, but it
looks rather rundown and wants to know what's happening with it.
Law Director Gareau replied he would check the court docket to see what the status was.
He added when a property goes into foreclosure it's a lengthy process and if the property
owner is staying in the home they will usually file for bankruptcy right before the
sheriffs sale, which stops everything. He said he wasn't sure that is what happened with
this house, but he suspected it might be based on what is happening. He said it's also
possible someone might have purchased it already and is not doing anything with it.
Next, Ms. McKenney stated she believed there are two rental properties on her street
located at 24125 and 23768 and they are looking very rundown and the property is not
being maintained. She wanted to know if anything can be done.
2
