Council Minutes of 6-6-2017 Mayor Kennedy replied the City will stay on top of it. He said the City has been doing sweeps in various Ward's for property maintenance and the city is certainly on top of rental properties. Law Director Gareau stated to tell your neighbors to feel free to call us if there are problems like that. We have a rental registry if someone is renting the property it is supposed to be registered, we do inspections of the properties because they are rentals. Do not be shy about calling and let your Councilperson know and they can have someone sent out. However, once we start to get on a property if they were irresponsible enough to let the property go, they may be just as irresponsible for quite a while in terms of fixing it. We will prosecute them though if that is the case. Councilman Rahm confirmed the house was the abandoned one on the corner. LEGISLATION Ordinance 2017-40 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Kennedy. An Ordinance to make and transfer appropriations for current expenses and other expenditures for the City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 2017, and declaring an emergency. Resolution 2017-41 was introduced and placed on first reading by Council President Jones. A Resolution opposing proposed reductions in funding for Federal programs that are critical to municipal services and essential to the residents of the City of North Olmsted, Ohio, and declaring an emergency. Resolution 2017-42 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Kennedy. A Resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for the replacement of the skylights at Fire Station No. 1; further authorizing the Mayor, subject to award by the Board of Control, to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder, and declaring an emergency. Councilwoman Williamson made a motion to suspend the rules requiring three readings and formal committee review as it was discussed in Caucus and is time sensitive. Resolution 2017-44 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Kennedy. A Resolution adopting the Alternative Tax Budget of the City of North Olmsted for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 2018, and submitting the same to the Cuyahoga County Fiscal Officer and its Budget Commission, and declaring an emergency. 3
