Council Minutes of 6-6-2017 <br />Mayor Kennedy replied the City will stay on top of it. He said the City has been doing <br />sweeps in various Ward's for property maintenance and the city is certainly on top of <br />rental properties. <br />Law Director Gareau stated to tell your neighbors to feel free to call us if there are <br />problems like that. We have a rental registry if someone is renting the property it is <br />supposed to be registered, we do inspections of the properties because they are rentals. <br />Do not be shy about calling and let your Councilperson know and they can have someone <br />sent out. However, once we start to get on a property if they were irresponsible enough to <br />let the property go, they may be just as irresponsible for quite a while in terms of fixing <br />it. We will prosecute them though if that is the case. <br />Councilman Rahm confirmed the house was the abandoned one on the corner. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Ordinance 2017-40 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Kennedy. An <br />Ordinance to make and transfer appropriations for current expenses and other <br />expenditures for the City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 2017, and <br />declaring an emergency. <br />Resolution 2017-41 was introduced and placed on first reading by Council President <br />Jones. A Resolution opposing proposed reductions in funding for Federal programs that <br />are critical to municipal services and essential to the residents of the City of North <br />Olmsted, Ohio, and declaring an emergency. <br />Resolution 2017-42 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Kennedy. A <br />Resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for the <br />replacement of the skylights at Fire Station No. 1; further authorizing the Mayor, subject <br />to award by the Board of Control, to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder, <br />and declaring an emergency. Councilwoman Williamson made a motion to suspend the <br />rules requiring three readings and formal committee review as it was discussed in Caucus <br />and is time sensitive. The motion was seconded by Councilman Kearney and passed <br />unanimously. Councilwoman Williamson moved for adoption. The motion was seconded <br />by Councilman Kearney and passed unanimously. Resolution 2017-42 adopted 6-0. <br />Ordinance 2017-43 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Kennedy. An <br />Ordinance dispensing with the RFP process and authorizing the Mayor to enter into a <br />contract with John Patrick Picard Architect, Inc. for the purpose of providing <br />architectural services for the Old Town Hall Renovation Project, and declaring an <br />emergency. <br />Resolution 2017-44 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Kennedy. A <br />Resolution adopting the Alternative Tax Budget of the City of North Olmsted for the <br />fiscal year beginning January 1, 2018, and submitting the same to the Cuyahoga County <br />Fiscal Officer and its Budget Commission, and declaring an emergency. <br />3 <br />
