MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED AUGUST 15, 2017 Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Brossard, Hemann, Kearney, Limpert, Rahm & Schumann Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Safety & Service Glauner, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Planning & Development Lieber and Clerk of Council Massarolo Absent: Councilwoman Williamson and Director of Human Resources Gallo Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. The Council meeting minutes of August 1, 2017 were approved as written. The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules this evening: Second Reading — Resolution 2017-48, Resolution 2017-49, Ordinance 2017-50, Ordinance 2017-51 and Resolution 2017-54. REPORTS Mayor Kennedy: • The 2017 BOOM! was a huge success. Thank you to all of the sponsors and everyone who helped that day, especially the Fire, Police and Service Departments. • Homecoming is on August 24-27 at North Olmsted Park, The City's big tent is on Friday, August 25 from 7:30-9 p.m. The City will have a photo booth, crafts for kids and a meet and greet with our Hometown Heroes. • Country Club Boulevard Streetscape project between Victoria Lane and Great Northern Boulevard is underway. Traffic will be maintained throughout the project, but it is advisable to use other routes. • The Springvale Improvement Project is on schedule. The first portion of work. which is the maintenance building, will be completed by the end of the month. • Come out for the last Summer in the City Concert. It's the last one this Sunday at North Olmsted Park at 6 p.m. Kristine Jackson is the featured performer. Director of Law Gareau: • An update on Virgina Sopko et al v. James Saumer et al., which is a case regarding the property on Lorain Road down by Barton. It's a property which has been boarded up for some time now. Litigation was commenced by the parties at interest to get the property back from Mr. Saumer. A motion for summary judgment was filed. Mr. Saumer was a no show at the hearing so we would expect
