MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />AUGUST 15, 2017 <br />Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Brossard, Hemann, Kearney, <br />Limpert, Rahm & Schumann <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Safety & Service <br />Glauner, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Planning & Development <br />Lieber and Clerk of Council Massarolo <br />Absent: Councilwoman Williamson and Director of Human Resources Gallo <br />Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The Council meeting minutes of August 1, 2017 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br />this evening: Second Reading — Resolution 2017-48, Resolution 2017-49, Ordinance <br />2017-50, Ordinance 2017-51 and Resolution 2017-54. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• The 2017 BOOM! was a huge success. Thank you to all of the sponsors and <br />everyone who helped that day, especially the Fire, Police and Service <br />Departments. <br />• Homecoming is on August 24-27 at North Olmsted Park, The City's big tent is on <br />Friday, August 25 from 7:30-9 p.m. The City will have a photo booth, crafts for <br />kids and a meet and greet with our Hometown Heroes. <br />• Country Club Boulevard Streetscape project between Victoria Lane and Great <br />Northern Boulevard is underway. Traffic will be maintained throughout the <br />project, but it is advisable to use other routes. <br />• The Springvale Improvement Project is on schedule. The first portion of work. <br />which is the maintenance building, will be completed by the end of the month. <br />• Come out for the last Summer in the City Concert. It's the last one this Sunday at <br />North Olmsted Park at 6 p.m. Kristine Jackson is the featured performer. <br />Director of Law Gareau: <br />• An update on Virgina Sopko et al v. James Saumer et al., which is a case <br />regarding the property on Lorain Road down by Barton. It's a property which has <br />been boarded up for some time now. Litigation was commenced by the parties at <br />interest to get the property back from Mr. Saumer. A motion for summary <br />judgment was filed. Mr. Saumer was a no show at the hearing so we would expect <br />
