MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />SEPTEMBER 19, 2017 <br />Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Brossard, Hemann, Kearney, <br />Rahm, Schumann & Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Human <br />Resources Gallo, Director of Safety & Service Glauner, Director of Law <br />Gareau, Director of Planning & Development Lieber and Clerk of Council <br />Massarolo <br />Absent: Council Member Limpert <br />Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The Council meeting minutes of September 5, 2017 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br />this evening; Second Reading — Ordinance 2017-59 and Resolution 2017-60; First <br />Reading — Resolution 2017-63 <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• The Mayor swore in Police Officer Jeffrey Richards. The oath is attached to the <br />minutes. <br />• There will be a candidate's night, open to the public, on Thursday, September 28 <br />at the North Olmsted Library at 7:00p.m. <br />• The Recreation Center is finishing up a roof project that is in the gymnastics and <br />tennis area. <br />• Bids were received for the Burns Road sidewalk project. The project should be <br />completed by the end of the year, if the weather cooperates. <br />• Phase I of the Springvale Master Plan is going very well. <br />Director of Law Gareau: <br />• Last meeting, I mentioned the Wastewater Treatment Plant and the flooding event <br />in 2014 and how we were working to get it resolved. We signed the papers and it <br />has been put behind us and the City did not have to pay anything for the repair as <br />it wasn't our fault. <br />• I also mentioned the lawsuit Theresa Sullivan v. Regina Opheim. I said we had <br />filed a motion to dismiss and it was granted. However, I have a feeling it will <br />resurface in another court and if so I will keep you advised of it. As of now <br />though, the case has ended. <br />
