ARTICLE XIX LONGEVITY <br />19.1 All full-time sworn employees shall receive longevity pay as additional compensation <br />computed on annual salary as follows through December 31, 2012: <br />4% after employee completes 5 years of service <br />5% after employee completes 10 years of service <br />6% after employee completes 15 years of service <br />7% after employee completes 20 years of service <br />For the purpose of this section, the term annual salary is defined as base pay, overtime, <br />vacation and sick pay. <br />19.2 All full-time sworn employees effective January 1, 2013 shall receive longevity pay as <br />additional compensation to the annual salary as follows: <br />$500.00 after the employee completes 5 years of service <br />$1,000.00 after the employee completes 10 years of service <br />$1,500.00 after the employee completes 15 years of service <br />$2,000.00 after the employee completes 20 years of service <br />$2,500.00 after the employee completes 25 years of service <br />In computing length of service for the purpose of making payments of longevity <br />increments as herein above set forth, no credit shall be given for part-time service with the <br />Employer but such limitation is the only exclusion for the purpose of computing longevity. All <br />full time sworn employees eligible for longevity pay under Article 19.2 shall receive a final <br />longevity payment upon cessation of employment for any reason, notwithstanding Article 19.3. <br />The payment shall be based upon a per diem calculation commencing and including the <br />employee's last service anniversary date up to and including the last day of employment. <br />19.3 Longevity compensation shall be paid accordingly in each employee's regular pay check <br />on the anniversary date of hire. <br />ARTICLE XX PARAMEDIC PAY <br />20.1 Employees that are certified by the State of Ohio as a paramedic shall be paid a bonus of <br />one thousand four hundred ($1,400.00) dollars on or before the 15" of December, each year. <br />It shall be calculated on a prorated basis for those who, during the year, retire, and for <br />those individuals hired before December 31, 1995, that lose their certification for whatever <br />reason. To be eligible for full payment, an employee shall be required to be certified for the <br />period between December 15 and December 14, each year of this Agreement. <br />20.2 Employees shall be permitted to drop their paramedic certification after fifteen (15) years <br />of continuous service in order of seniority down.
