certification must maintain their EMT certification. Employees shall be permitted to drop their <br />paramedic certification providing the total number of remaining paramedics does not fall below <br />thirty-three (33). Should manning increase, the total minimum number of paramedics required <br />would increase by one (1) for every three (3) additional hires. Should manning decrease, the total <br />number of paramedics required would decrease by one (1) for every (3) staffing / employee <br />reductions based upon forty six (46) employees. <br />20.3 Effective January 1, 2013 any employee wishing to promote to a higher rank shall be <br />required to maintain paramedic certification. This section shall not apply to any employee that <br />has dropped paramedic certification prior to January 1, 2013 and currently hold the rank of <br />Lieutenant or Captain. <br />ARTICLE XXI HEALTH BENEFITS <br />21.1 The Employer shall provide single, family, employee and spouse, employee and <br />child/children medical insurance coverage at the employee's option for each full-time employee <br />pursuant to Appendix A. <br />21.2 Employee(s) participating in the city's medical insurance coverage program shall <br />contribute an amount equal to thirteen 13% percent of the plan premium or expected costs of <br />such medical plan and the Employer shall contribute eighty seven 87% percent of such costs. <br />The employee contribution shall be withheld via payroll deduction not later than the first pay <br />period each month. <br />21.3 The Employer will offer a HMO, PPO and HDHP-HSA plans that provides for annual <br />deductibles, co -pays and co-insurance as set forth in the attached Plan designs, providing said <br />plans contain deductibles, co -pays, co-insurance benefits that are no less than those contained in <br />Appendix A. <br />21.4 Employees shall participate in the AFSCME Dental Benefit Plan and Union Eye Care <br />Vision Plan. <br />21.5 Expected cost of premium is defined as the cost of all medical, hospital, prescription drug <br />and related fees including, but not limited to, administration fees. <br />21.6 The Employer reserves the right to establish plans, enrollment periods and regulations. <br />21.7 All employees shall receive twenty-five thousand ($25,000.00) dollars in group term life <br />insurance, paid for by the Employer. <br />21.8 The Employer shall cause to be implemented the current Health Care Plan as a qualified <br />Plan under Section 125 of the Internal Revenue Code. <br />23 <br />
