ARTICLE XXII APPENDICES AND AMENDMENTS <br />22.1 All appendices and amendments to this Agreement shall be numbered (or lettered), dated <br />and signed by the Employer and the Association and shall be subject to all provisions of this <br />Agreement. <br />ARTICLE XXIII CONFORMITY TO LAW <br />23.1 This Agreement shall be subject to and subordinated to any applicable present and future <br />federal and state laws, and the invalidity of any provisions of this Agreement by reason of any <br />such existing or future law shall not affect the validity of the surviving provisions. <br />23.2 If the Enactment of legislation, or a determination by a court of final and competent <br />jurisdiction (whether in a proceeding between the parties or in one not between the parties but <br />controlling by reason of the facts) renders any portion of this Agreement invalid or <br />unenforceable, such legislation or decision shall not affect the validity of the surviving <br />provisions of this agreement, which shall remain in full force and effect as if such invalid <br />provision(s) thereof had not been included herein. <br />23.3 In the event a portion of this Agreement is rendered invalid, as set forth above, upon <br />written notification of either party, the parties shall meet within thirty (30) days to negotiate a <br />lawful alternative. <br />ARTICLE XXIV ASSOCIATION BUSINESS AND MEETINGS <br />24.1 Not more than five (5) members of the Association either elected or appointed by the <br />Association for the purpose of negotiating with the Employer, shall be allowed time off for all <br />meetings with the Employer, which shall be mutually set by the Employer and the Association. <br />24.2 The Employer agrees that the Association shall be permitted to hold meetings at the Fire <br />House as long as the meetings do not interfere with the regular activities of the Fire Department. <br />Additionally, all Association members shall be allowed to attend all Association meetings <br />provided the Association members remain in service and receive approval of the Fire Chief, <br />which approval shall not be unreasonably withheld. <br />24.3 Such meetings must be approved in advance by the Fire Chief and are limited to <br />members of the Association, unless otherwise approved by the Fire Chief, which approval shall <br />not be unreasonably withheld. <br />24.4 For the purpose of Association business, the Employer shall acknowledge a Comp Time <br />Bank into which members of the Association contribute hours. <br />24.5 The Association shall maintain an address and phone number for its official business <br />separate from City government addresses and phone numbers. The Association shall not use any <br />City government address or phone number for Association or Association related business. <br />24 <br />
