and responsibilities and a prognosis of how long the employee will be unable to perform his <br />regular job tasks. <br />26.2 The employee may submit a request to the Fire Chief or his designee to be assigned to <br />Light Duty. The employee shall first submit a request to the Fire Chief or his designee along <br />with corroboration from the employee's physician citing: the employee's physical limitation, <br />why the employee can't perform his job task and responsibilities and a prognosis of how long the <br />employee will be required to refrain from performing his job task. <br />26.3 Light Duty, if approved, shall be limited to availability of Light Duty assignments and <br />which is medically appropriate and which contributes to the function and mission of the <br />Department. All Light Duty assignments are to be of a temporary nature. <br />26.4 Should an employee be assigned to Light Duty for any period of time, the employee must <br />submit satisfactory medical certification from his physician stating that the employee can return <br />to his regularly assigned job task prior to reinstatement to regular duty. <br />26.5 Any employee while assigned to Light Duty shall continue to receive all compensation <br />and fringe benefits, including accumulation of seniority attached to his normally assigned <br />position. <br />ARTICLE XXVII EXPENSE REIMBURSEMENT <br />27.1 Fire Fighters 1" year shall receive six ($6.00) dollars per day for expenses while in <br />attendance at a state certified fire fighters training school as mandated by law. <br />27.2 Should a Fire Fighter 1S` year be required to travel round trip from N.O.F.D. #1 to school, <br />the Employer shall reimburse at a rate per mile established from time to time, unless the Fire <br />Fighter 1 Sc year travels in an Employer -owned vehicle. <br />27.3 Should a Fire Fighter 1" year be required to be away from his residence overnight for <br />such schooling, the Employer shall pay all costs for meals, housing and transportation. <br />ARTICLE XXVIII COURT LEAVE <br />28.1 The Employer shall grant leave with the Basic Hourly Rate of Pay plus Longevity or <br />Overtime Pay (as applicable) to an employee for the period of time he is required to appear <br />before a court, judge, justice, magistrate or coroner as a plaintiff, defendant or witness in matters <br />directly relating to his job as an employee of the Employer. Employees shall be paid a minimum <br />two (2) hours overtime pay for appearance at Rocky River Municipal Court. A minimum of four <br />(4) hours overtime pay shall be paid for appearance at a Grand Jury, Common Pleas Court or <br />Juvenile Court. <br />28.2 The Employer shall grant leave with the Basic Hourly Rate of Pay plus Longevity to an <br />employee for the period of time he is required to appear for jury duty. <br />26 <br />
