MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />NOVEMBER 21, 2017 <br />Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Brossard, Kearney, Limpert, <br />Rahm, Schumann & Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Human <br />Resources Gallo, Director of Safety & Service Glauner, Director of Law <br />Gareau, Director of Planning & Development Lieber and Clerk of Council <br />Massarolo <br />Absent: Council Member Hemann <br />Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />Council President Jones thanked Cub Scout Pack 4630 for presenting the colors. <br />Councilman Schumann made a motion to remove Ordinance 2017-76 from the agenda. <br />The motion was seconded by Councilman Rahm and passed unanimously. Ordinance <br />2017-76 removed from the agenda by a vote of 6-0. <br />The Council meeting minutes of November 8, 2017 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br />this evening: Second Reading — Resolution 2017-79; First Reading — Resolution 2017-82. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• Mayor Kennedy thanked the Scouts for coming to the meeting. <br />• City offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday to observe Thanksgiving. <br />• Congratulations to the Officers of the Year. For the Police Department, it is <br />Detective Dan Barrett and for the Fire Department, it is Lieutenant Dan Coyle. <br />• The North Olmsted Noel will be held Sunday, December 3rd between 2:00 p.m. <br />and 5:00 p.m. at the North Olmsted Community Cabin. It will feature holiday <br />themed food vendors, kids crafts, outdoor games, live musical performances, <br />reindeer, sled dogs, a bonfire and Santa Claus. <br />Director of Law Gareau: <br />• The case regarding James Connell vs. North Olmsted. This is the flash flooding <br />case from several years ago is continuing to progress. We have finished the <br />deposition of their expert and we expect them to seek class certification and <br />summary judgment. This will be continuing for a while because even the class <br />
