Depending on what the Court of Appeals and <br />Supreme Court does after that comes immunity and all of our defenses the City <br />has which also can be appealed. <br />• Zayed vs. Ventura. This is an excessive use of force case that has been filed <br />against the City of North Olmsted. The City has prepared and filed an answer. <br />The case is in the Federal District for the Northern District of Ohio. There is a <br />case management conference scheduled for December 18. <br />• I had the good fortune to have dinner the other day with George Nasher and his <br />wife along with Paul Miller and his wife. Both were former Councilmembers <br />here. They are doing well and send their regards. <br />Director of Finance Copfer: <br />• The third quarter financial documents and the third quarter narrative were e- <br />mailed to Council. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. <br />• The temporary appropriations were not brought forward tonight as the City is still <br />getting its arms around somethings. However, it will be brought forward at the <br />next meeting. Since this is a temporary budget, even though it is a detailed <br />budget, we will need it passed before the last working day in December. <br />Council President Jones Chairwoman of the Committee of the Whole: <br />The Committee of the Whole met on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 7:15 p.m. Present <br />were Council members Brossard, Kearney, Limpert, Rahm, Schumann and Williamson; <br />Council President Jones; Mayor Kennedy and guests. <br />• Discussed was Ordinance 2017-76 was introduced and placed on first reading by <br />Mayor Kennedy. An Ordinance amending Chapter 1145 "Limited Industry - <br />Industrial Park District" of Chapter Eleven of the Codified Ordinances of the City <br />of North Olmsted titled "Planning and Zoning Code," for the purpose of <br />implementing zoning code changes proposed by the City of North Olmsted <br />Planning and Design Commission. Members of the public pointed out specific <br />areas of the Chapter they wanted to get clarification on. <br />Councilman Kearney Chairman of the Finance Committee: <br />The Finance Committee met on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 7:15 p.m. Present were <br />committee members Kearney, Schumann and Rahm; Council members Brossard and <br />Limpert; Council President Jones; Director of Safety & Service Glauner and guests. <br />• Discussed first was Resolution 2017-78. A Resolution authorizing the Director of <br />Public Service to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to purchase asphalt <br />& stone materials, as detailed by specifications on file, and authorizing the <br />Mayor, following approval of the Board of Control, to contract for the same with <br />the lowest and best bidder. This is a yearly task which allows the Director to get <br />the best quality and price for the materials we need to maintain our streets.
