Council Minutes of 12-05-2017 <br />• The Finance Department has been working on the budget and hopefully Council <br />will find it in a good format. The Divisions have been working on it since about <br />August and Council should find it very informative. <br />Councilman Kearney Chairman of the Finance Committee: <br />The Finance Committee met on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 7:05 p.m. Present were <br />committee members Kearney, Schumann and Rahm; Council members Brossard, <br />Hemann, Limpert and Williamson; Council President Jones; Director of Finance Copfer, <br />Director of Safety & Service Glauner, Director of Human Resources Gallo, Network <br />Administrator Lundberg and guests. <br />• Discussed first was Ordinance 2017-80. An Ordinance amending the rates of <br />compensation for various administrative and legislative personnel for the years <br />2018, 2019 and 2020 by increasing the salary ranges two and one-half percent <br />(2.5%) in 2018 and 2019 and two percent (2%) in 2020 for full-time and part-time <br />positions, and otherwise restate the compensation rates and descriptions for <br />various administrative and legislative personnel for the years 2018, 2019 and <br />2020, and declaring an emergency. The committee voted 3-0 to recommend to <br />Council. <br />• Discussed next was Ordinance 2017-81. An Ordinance to make and transfer <br />appropriations for current expenses and other expenditures for the City of North <br />Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 2017, and declaring an emergency. <br />This is routine balancing of the budget. The committee voted 3-0 to recommend <br />to Council with suspension. <br />• Discussed next was Ordinance 2017-86. An Ordinance appropriating funds for the <br />Call Processing/Voice Mail System Project and further authorizing the Director of <br />Human Resources to solicit proposals for the Call Processing/Voice Mail System <br />and, subject to approval of the Board of Control, additionally authorizing the <br />Mayor to enter into a contract for such system, and declaring an emergency. This <br />system will ensure messages are being received along with streamlining <br />communications for the Administration and City Council. The committee voted 3- <br />0 to recommend to Council with suspension. <br />• Discussed last was Resolution 2017-87. A Resolution to solicit RFP's for <br />redundant fiber lines for the Police and Fire Departments in conjunction with the <br />Call Processing/Voice Mail System Project and further authorizing the Director of <br />Human Resources to solicit proposals for the police and fire portion of the project <br />and, subject to approval of the Board of Control, additionally authorizing the <br />Mayor to enter into a contract for such fiber lines, and declaring an emergency. <br />This will ensure if our safety forces have a failure in their system, they will have a <br />backup. The committee voted 3-0 to recommend to Council with suspension. <br />Councilwoman Williamson Chairman of the Streets and Transportation Committee: <br />The Streets and Transportation Committee met on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 7:40 <br />p.m. Present were committee members Williamson, Hemann and Limpert; Council <br />members Brossard, Kearney, Rahm and Schumann; Council President Jones; Director of <br />Safety & Service and guests. <br />2 <br />
