7 1 Page <br />DEVELOP EMPLOYEE HANDBOOK <br />Project Deliverables <br />HAI will develop an Employee Handbook. The handbook is a digest of relevant policies which a <br />newly hired employee needs to know and those policies to which current employees refer on a <br />frequent basis. While the Personnel Policy Manual is a legal document, the handbook is written in <br />more user-friendly language so as to be easily understood by all employees of the City. <br />Work Process <br />The Consultant will first review the policies with the city administration to determine those which are <br />universal to employees and should be included in the handbook. Such policies will include health <br />coverage, vacations, holidays, sick leave, what to do when calling in sick, what to do if injured on the <br />job, prohibition of harassment, the City's Equal Employment and Affirmative Action policy, digest of <br />rights under FMLA, ADA, etc. In addition, the consultant will prepare a preface with an introductory <br />message by elected officials, a history of the City and the organization of City Government. A draft <br />handbook will be presented to the administration for review. After revisions, the final book will be <br />delivered in digital form for printing by the City. <br />Estimated Time For Completion: thirty (30) days from completion of policy manual project <br />
