MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED JANUARY 16, 2018 Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Brossard, Glassburn, Hemann, Kearney, Limpert, Schumann & Williamson Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Human Resources Gallo, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Safety & Service Glauner, Director of Planning & Development Lieber and Clerk of Council Massarolo Absent: None Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. Councilman Schumann made a motion to remove Resolution 2018-2 from the agenda. The motion was seconded by Councilman Kearney and passed unanimously. Resolution 2018-2 removed from an agenda by a vote of 7-0. The Special Council meeting minutes of January 2, 2018 were approved as written. The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules this evening: Second Reading — Resolution 2018-3 and Ordinance 2018-4. REPORTS Mayor Kennedy: • The Mayor swore in several individuals. All of the Oaths are attached to the Minutes. • Sworn in first was Sergeant Woehrman from the North Olmsted Police Department. Sergeant Woehrman thanked the Mayor and Council. He said he looked forward to being a Sergeant and hopes he does a good job. He thanked his family, friends and co-workers for all of their support. • The Mayor also swore in Anthony Petsas to the position of Firefighter. He thanked everyone including Council, his family and the City for giving him the opportunity. • Next, the Mayor swore in Alex Lawson to the position of Firefighter. He thanked everyone for coming and said he looked forward to being a part of the Fire Department. • Chief Schepp thanked Council and the Administration on behalf of the entire Fire Department for their support. He also thanked the Captains. He said earlier today Chief Wagner and him were in a meeting and a gentleman was talking about baseball. He said kids want to grow up to be ballplayers because it would be fun.
