MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />FEBRUARY 6, 2018 <br />Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Glassburn, Hemann, Kearney, <br />Schumann & Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Safety & Service <br />Glauner and Clerk of Council Massarolo <br />Absent: Council Members Brossard and Limpert; Director of Planning & <br />Development Lieber <br />Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />Council President Jones thanked Boy Scout Troop #332 for presenting the colors. <br />The Council meeting minutes of January 16, 2018 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br />this evening: Second Reading — Resolution 2018-2, Resolution 2018-8, Ordinance 2018-9 <br />and Resolution 2018-12. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• The State of the City will be February 22, 2018 at Springvale, registration is <br />available on the City website. <br />• Fish Fry's begin at Springvale on February 16, 2018. <br />• The Recreation Center Open House will be on Sunday, February 11, 2018. There <br />will be free swimming and skating, a DJ, giveaway's, tours of the facility and <br />information about the new Recreation Center plan. <br />• The Mayor swore in Daniel Barrett to Sergeant and Robert Dungan to Lieutenant. <br />The Oaths are attached to the Minutes. <br />• Chief Wagner said he could talk for hours about these two guys. Mr. Wagner said <br />that Mr. Dungan was his Field Training Officer when he got here 20 years ago <br />and he learned a lot from him. He also said Mr. Barrett worked for him in the <br />Detective Bureau for the last four years. If one talks about leadership in the Police <br />Department these two names, along with several others, would be the first to <br />come to mind. He said he couldn't be happier to see these two promoted. Chief <br />Wagner said that Mr. Barrett was the 2017 Officer of the Year, the first two time <br />winner of the award.
