MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED MARCH 20, 2018 Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Brossard, Glassburn, Hemann, Kearney, Limpert, Schumann & Williamson Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Human Resources Gallo, Director of Safety & Service Glauner, Director of Planning & Development Lieber, and Clerk of Council Massarolo Absent: Director of Law Gareau Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. The Council meeting minutes of March 6, 2018 were approved as written. The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules this evening: First Reading — Resolution 2018-32 and Resolution 2018-33. REPORTS Mayor Kennedy: • The first recreational facilities meeting was last Wednesday and it went well. The next meetings are Monday, March 26 from 5-8 p.m., Saturday, April 14 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and Wednesday, April 25 from 5-8 p.m. All of these will be held at the Community Cabin. • The Mayor's Art Show will be held Tuesday, March 27 from 6-7:30 p.m. in Council Chambers and the Caucus Room. • The Eggstravaganza is March 31 at the park. Director of Finance Copfer: • Late last year the State passed legislation allowing businesses to file a Municipal Net Profit Tax statewide instead of having to file separately in each city, if they gave notice to the cities they reside in by March 1. We should be getting a list on how many filed. We are supposed to get certain paper work and had about 30 come in and are waiting to find out if that is the correct number. The fee the State is going to charge as an administrative fee is .5%, but I can't get a clear answer as to what RITA is going to do as they are the City's income tax administrator and keep our detailed records. It is starting in the 2018 tax year so we have time to figure it out. But this was kind of a surprise to a lot of us.
