Chief Wagner
presented Mr. Saringer with a Community Service Award. Mr. Saringer thanked
the Police Chief, Council, the Mayor and Administration along with everyone
from the Police and Fire Departments. He said he does this because giving back to
the community is what policing is all about, but that he couldn't do it without the
help of all of his brothers and sisters in blue.
• Next the Mayor swore Eric Morgan in as Lieutenant. Chief Wagner said it is a
natural progression for Mr. Morgan to go from Sergeant to Lieutenant. Chief
Wagner said he has done an excellent job for the City and he is also working on a
Master's degree.
• Next the Mayor swore Angel Walling in as Sergeant. Chief Wagner said this has
been a long time coming for Sergeant Walling. He said Angel has done a great job
for the City. Chief Wagner said he is sure she will be a Lieutenant or even higher
sometime down the road. He said what makes this even greater though is Sergeant
Walling is the first female officer in North Olmsted to make rank.
• Lastly, the Mayor swore in Officer Nicklas Gorbuja. Chief Wagner said six
months ago the average age of the Police Department was about 47 years old.
