Upon application in writing by an <br />employee, the Employer shall guarantee, on the date determined by the Employer within its <br />management discretion, one eight (8) hour workday of on-the-job training (OJT) per month in a <br />job classification immediately above his own. The eligible on-the-job training (OJT) can be <br />taken in blocks of time of up to three (3) days, but time taken cannot exceed the total allowable <br />time in a one (1) year period. <br />19.05 An employee awarded a job under Article 19 of this Agreement will be given reasonable <br />help and supervision and shall be allowed sixty (60) working days to satisfactorily perform the <br />required duties with no more supervision than is required by other employees on the same or <br />similar jobs, and when his record as to quality and quantity of work meets the standard <br />applicable to the job. If the employee fails to so perform within sixty (60) working days, or if the <br />employee himself so requests within twenty (20) days after he has been awarded the job, he shall <br />be returned to his former job. An employee awarded a job under the provisions of Article 19 <br />shall receive at the time of the award, the appropriate rate of pay in the classification. <br />15 <br />
