The Employer may <br />advance step hire based Building Inspectors on recruitment needs and the employee's <br />qualifications. <br />28.03 Any employee who is promoted to a higher rated position shall be placed on the step in <br />the new position's schedule that guarantees the employee a wage increase. Thereafter, the <br />employee shall progress through the schedule on the employee's promotion date. <br />28.04 Employees occupying the positions of Animal Warden, Recreation Department <br />Maintenance, Lead Building Maintenance, and Engineering Inspector/Survey Crew <br />Member/Survey Crew Chief/Building Inspector/Property Maintenance Inspector/ Chief Inspector <br />shall receive an annual boot allowance of three hundred seventy-five ($375.00) dollars. One <br />hundred eighty seven dollars and fifty cents ($187.50) of the aforementioned boot allowance <br />shall be paid during the first pay period after July 1, 2018 of this agreement. Subsequently, three <br />hundred seventy five dollars ($375.00) shall be paid during the first pay periods after January 1, <br />2019 and after January 1, 2020 covered by the terms of this agreement. <br />28.05 Employees occupying the position of Building Division Inspector/HVAC Inspector, shall <br />have at least one State of Ohio certification as a Building Inspector, Plumbing Inspector or <br />Electrical Safety Inspector. For each additional State of Ohio certification as a Building <br />Inspector, Plumbing Inspector or Electrical Safety Inspector, the employee shall receive an <br />additional $1.00 per hour, not to exceed an additional $2.00 per hour for employees with all three <br />(3) certifications. Trainee certifications shall not be considered additional certifications for the <br />purpose of receiving additional hourly compensation. <br />28.06 Any employees occupying the position of Secretary 2 or Bookkeeper B who were paid <br />pursuant to either the Secretary 1 or Bookkeeper A pay scale due to passing a qualification test <br />or certification/degree shall receive payment pursuant to the Secretary 1(A) and Bookkeeper <br />A(B) scales. <br />22 <br />
