MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED MAY 15, 2018 Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Glassburn, Hemann, Kearney, Limpert, Schumann & Williamson Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Human Resources Gallo, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Safety & Service Glauner, Director of Planning & Development Lieber, and Clerk of Council Massarolo Absent: Council Member Brossard Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in a moment of silence in honor of fallen officers as May 15 is Peace Officers Memorial Day. The Council meeting minutes of May 1, 2018 were approved as written. The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules this evening: First Reading — Resolution 2018-48. REPORTS Mayor Kennedy: • It's Ice Show Week this week. The shows are Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. along with shows at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday and 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. It's a wonderful event. Immediately following the ice show the ice will be brought down for emergency repairs. • There is a lacrosse tournament on Saturday at Barton Bradley Fields. Third and fourth grade boys and girls will compete on Saturday and Sunday will be fifth through eighth grade girls. Parking will be tight so there will be a shuttle from Chestnut Schools. Director of Law Gareau: • The City is in the process of selecting dates for arbitration for the termination of former Police Officer Christopher Fox. • Concerning the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) negotiations, if the City isn't at an impasse it is very close to one and it appears the City will be going to a fact finding meeting on an inability to reach an agreement with the FOP in our labor negotiations.
