MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MAY 15, 2018 <br />Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Glassburn, Hemann, Kearney, <br />Limpert, Schumann & Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Human <br />Resources Gallo, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Safety & Service <br />Glauner, Director of Planning & Development Lieber, and Clerk of <br />Council Massarolo <br />Absent: Council Member Brossard <br />Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in a moment of silence in honor of <br />fallen officers as May 15 is Peace Officers Memorial Day. <br />The Council meeting minutes of May 1, 2018 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br />this evening: First Reading — Resolution 2018-48. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• It's Ice Show Week this week. The shows are Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. <br />along with shows at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday and 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. It's a <br />wonderful event. Immediately following the ice show the ice will be brought <br />down for emergency repairs. <br />• There is a lacrosse tournament on Saturday at Barton Bradley Fields. Third and <br />fourth grade boys and girls will compete on Saturday and Sunday will be fifth <br />through eighth grade girls. Parking will be tight so there will be a shuttle from <br />Chestnut Schools. <br />Director of Law Gareau: <br />• The City is in the process of selecting dates for arbitration for the termination of <br />former Police Officer Christopher Fox. <br />• Concerning the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) negotiations, if the City isn't at <br />an impasse it is very close to one and it appears the City will be going to a fact <br />finding meeting on an inability to reach an agreement with the FOP in our labor <br />negotiations. <br />
