For example, an owner who has a legal interest in multiple
corporations that, in turn, hold title to multiple rental units must disclose the
existence of all rental units in North Olmsted, regardless of legal title.
(k) No person filling out an application for Rental License shall provide false or
misleading information.
1319.05 INSPECTIONS.
The Building Commissioner or his agent, is hereby authorized to make, or cause to be
made, inspections of all structures or premises containing rental units to determine whether such
structures or premises comply with City Ordinances, the Fire Prevention Code, and State laws.
The Commissioner shall notify the owner of any rental unit that is to be inspected, or his agent,
that arrangements must be made with the Division of Building for an inspection appointment
within ten (10) days of such notice. The owner or agent, upon consent, shall cause the entire
structure to be accessible for inspection at the time arranged, which shall be during regular
business hours. If the owner or agent, or an occupant, refuses to consent to an inspection of the
subject property, or if consent is otherwise unobtainable, the Commissioner or his or her agent
shall not make such inspection without first obtaining a search warrant. No license shall be
issued or renewed if any violation of City Ordinances, the Fire Prevention Code or State law
exists.
1319.06 SUSPENSION OF LICENSE.
The Building Commissioner may suspend the license required in Section 1319.03, upon
finding or being advised by the Fire Chief or Police Chief that such premises are in violation of
any provision of this chapter or any other ordinance or resolution of the City.
1319.07 CANCELLATION OF LICENSE; NOTIFICATION.
(a) The Building Commissioner may cancel any license issued hereunder and
withdraw a certificate of occupancy for any rental unit when a violation of a State law, the Fire
Prevention Code, or City ordinance has been found to exist on the premises in excess of thirty
days after notice has been sent to the owner of such rental unit.
