MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />JUNE 19, 2018 <br />Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Brossard, Glassburn, Hemann, <br />Kearney, Limpert, Schumann & Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Human <br />Resources Gallo, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Safety & Service <br />Glauner, Director of Planning & Development Lieber, and Clerk of <br />Council Massarolo <br />Absent: None. <br />Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The Council meeting minutes of June 5, 2018 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br />this evening: Second Reading: Resolution 2018-55, Ordinance 2018-56, Ordinance 2018- <br />57, Resolution 2018-58, Ordinance 2018-59, Resolution 2018-60, Ordinance 2018-62, <br />Resolution 2018-63, Resolution 2018-65; First Reading: Ordinance 2018-67, Resolution <br />2018-68, Ordinance 2018-69. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• Mayor Kennedy swore in Ryan Ginley as an Officer with the North Olmsted <br />Police Department. A copy of the oath is attached to the minutes. The Mayor said <br />Ryan grew up in North Olmsted so he knows the streets well. Mr. Ginley thanked <br />everyone, including his family, for their support. He said he wouldn't be where he <br />is today without his family. Chief of Police Wagner said that Officer Ginley is the <br />ninth police officer the department has hired in the last months. Chief Wagner <br />said, while the guys keep getting younger he is glad to have Officer Ginley as he <br />is good person. He said he is from North Olmsted and graduated from Saint <br />Edwards and has a bachelor's from Baldwin Wallace and did an internship with <br />Lakewood. Chief Wagner said the department currently has 16 officers eligible <br />for retirement so the last three guys hired were in anticipation of some upcoming <br />retirements. <br />Next Mayor Kennedy presented Lieutenant Robert Dungan with a proclamation <br />honoring his retirement from the Westshore Enforcement Bureau SWAT team <br />after 25 years of service with the Task Force. A copy of the proclamation is <br />attached to the minutes. Lieutenant Dungan thanked everyone. <br />
