3.02 The FOP shall have use of suitable bulletin boards for the posting of FOP notices or other materials. The boards shal I be identified with the name of the FOP, and the FOP may designate persons responsible therefore. 3.03 The Employer shall during wage/contract negotiations, endeavor to schedule time for members of the negotiation team to participate in the negotiations without having to have worked the 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a,m. shil't immediately prior to any negotiation session. 3.04 Employees who are elected members of the FOP/OLC Labor Committee shall be authorized a bank of eighty (80) hours of paid leave, per calendar year, to attend FOP/OLC sponsored functions such as educational meetings, business meetings, or seminars. The bank of eighty (80) hours shall be used collectively by elected committee members representing the Blue Unit, Gold Unit and Corrections Unit. All requests to use hours from this bank shall be submitted in writing for approval by the Chief of Police or his Designee, which shall not be unreasonably withheld. It is understood that the attendance will not be approved if it will incur overtime, at the time the approval is granted. Additional time may be granted at the sole discretion of the Police Chief. ARTICLE IV AGENCY SHOP/DUES DEDUCTION 4.01 All employees in the bargaining unit shall either become clues paying members of the FOP or, as a condition of continUed employment, remit to the FOP a fair share fee in accord with the provisions of Ohio Revised Code Section 41 17.09(0). 4.02 Any newly hired employees in the bargaining unit shall, within sixty (60) days of date of employment, either elect to become members of the FOP or remit the fair share fee. As provided in Ohio Revised Code Section 41 17.09(C), nothing in this Article shall be deemed to require any employee to become a member of the FOP. 4.03 The F"niployer agrees to deduct FOP dues and fees from any member of the bargaining unit who provides written authorization for a payroll dues and fees deduction. 'file LOP shall indemnify the Employer and hold it harmless against any and all claims, demands, suits or other liability that may arise by reason of any action of the Employer in complying with the provisions of this Article. 4.04 Local Dues Deduct: The Employer shall deduct local Western Cuyahoga Lodge #25 membership dues in the amount certified by Lodge 425 to the Employer. Said dues will be deducted annually from the first paycheck of each year from the employees authorizing such deduction.
