MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />SEPTEMBER 18, 2018 <br />Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Brossard, Glassburn, Hemann, <br />Limpert, Schumann & Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Human Resources Gallo, Director of Law <br />Gareau, Director of Safety & Service Glauner, Director of Planning & <br />Development Lieber and Clerk of Council Massarolo <br />Absent: Councilman Kearney and Director of Finance Copfer <br />Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The Council meeting minutes of September 4, 2018 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br />this evening: Second Reading — Resolution 2018-82, Resolution 2018-83, Resolution <br />2018-84 and Resolution 2018-88. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• Ohio State Representative Dave Greenspan presented Officer Carbone with a <br />Resolution from the State House in honor of being named School Resource <br />Officer of the Year. Mr. Greenspan thanked everyone for coming. He said usually <br />when he comes before Council to present things, they are Commendations and <br />those are typically a little less formal. He said this is House Resolution 485 which <br />will be entered into the Ohio Records as a permanent memorial of the work <br />Officer Carbone has done. Mr. Greenspan read the Resolution. Representative <br />Greenspan also said the House has passed a bill that will provide an additional 10 <br />million dollars towards School Resource Officers and two million to deal with <br />bullying issues throughout the state. <br />Officer Carbone thanked his family. He said his support system is unbelievable. <br />He thanked the administration and his bosses for giving him this opportunity. <br />Officer Carbone said the City has been very supportive since day one and it has <br />been an honor to work with this town and school system. <br />State Representative Greenspan said the district he represents as had the Fraternal <br />Order of Police Officer of the Year, the Auxiliary Officer of the Year and the <br />School Resource Officer of the year. Mr. Greenspan said he thinks that's a pretty <br />rare accomplishment to have all three in this district serving their communities. <br />
