Council Minutes of 9-18-2018 <br />Officer Carbone said he also wanted to thank the School Board for making an <br />investment in him. <br />Director of Law Gareau: <br />• Tomorrow morning, the City will be meeting with the FOP on the Fox arbitration <br />matter. <br />• There is a brief due in the Court of Appeals, which the City has received an <br />extension on and that is also regarding the Fox unemployment matter. <br />• The Law Department worked with Becki in the Mayor's office on the Lamier <br />house at 5563 Burns Road. Council passed a Resolution at the last meeting on this <br />matter. The State of Ohio came out and meet with everyone and provided a <br />presentation. It was a good experience and this appears to be wrapping up very <br />soon. <br />• As an update on the Saumer house that I told you about at the last meeting, it has <br />been torn down and is no more. <br />Director of Finance Copfer: <br />• No report. <br />Councilman Brossard Chairman of the Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee: <br />The Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee met on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 <br />at 7:00 p.m. Present were committee members Brossard, Limpert and Williamson; <br />Council members Glassburn, Hemann, and Schumann; Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law <br />Gareau, Director of Safety & Service Glauner and guests. <br />• Discussed first was Liquor Permit 1125922, a new liquor permit for Burntwood <br />Tavern North Olmsted LLC. There was no objection by the police department. <br />The committee recommended to not object by a vote of 3-0. <br />Councilman Brossard made a motion to not object to Liquor Permit 1125922 Burntwood <br />Tavern North Olmsted LLC. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Williamson <br />and passed unanimously. Liquor Permit 1125922 Burntwood Tavern North Olmsted <br />LLC., not objected to 6-0. <br />• Discussed next was Liquor Permit 7949168, a transfer from MSN Brookpark <br />LLC., to Seeing Double LLC. There was no objection by the police department. <br />The committee recommended to not object by a vote of 3-0. <br />Councilman Brossard made a motion to not object to Liquor Permit 7949168. The motion <br />was seconded by Councilwoman Williamson and passed unanimously. Liquor Permit <br />7949168 not objected to 6-0. <br />• Discussed last was Resolution 2018-88. A Resolution declaring the opioid <br />epidemic a public nuisance in the City of North Olmsted, and declaring an <br />emergency. The Director of Law put together some figures, such as there has been <br />a 642% increase in accidental overdose deaths. Another statistic was Americans <br />2 <br />
