SECTION 2: That the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to enter into a <br />contract with Verizon Wireless for Police and Fire First Responder Pre-Emption services <br />and purchase necessary equipment for cellular service upgrades. Said contract, attached <br />as Exhibit A, shall be approved by the Director of Law, who is authorized to negotiate <br />any such changes as not being substantially adverse to the City, as shall be evidenced <br />conclusively by the execution of the agreement by the Mayor and the approval of the <br />agreement by the Director of Law. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for <br />the further reason that first responder access to critical communications networks is of <br />paramount importance to resident safety and must be acquired without delay; and further <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: kvw 6 r 7 b <br />A TTES <br />CHARLES MASSAROLO II <br />Clerk of Council <br />APPROVED: 11-113 <br />M YO KEVIN M.
