MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />OCTOBER 2, 2018 <br />Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Glassburn, Hemann, Limpert, <br />Schumann & Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Human <br />Resources Gallo, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Safety & Service <br />Glauner and Clerk of Council Massarolo <br />Absent: Councilman Brossard and Director of Planning & Development Lieber <br />Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The Council meeting minutes of September 18, 2018 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br />this evening: None. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• The City has picked out the police dog. His name is Notch and the dog should <br />arrive sometime in November after he finishes his training. <br />• The Battle of the Badges Blood Drive is at Great Northern on Saturday, October <br />13. It is the firemen against the police to see who can get more blood donations. <br />• The Recreation Center Open House is on October 9 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. <br />• The Fat Head's Mayor Homecoming Race netted somewhere between $22,000 <br />and $23,000. The Mayor hopes after expenses are paid it will be around $20,000 <br />for scholarships. In the past, the two runs gained $2,000 to $3,000 each. <br />Director of Law Gareau: <br />• In the matter of The City of North Olmsted v. Christopher Fox, which is in the <br />Court of Appeals, the City filed a brief and in about a month the City will get a <br />response from the State and oral arguments will be scheduled. <br />• Last week the City initiated litigation against the owners of 6744 Warrington and <br />have been using the property as an Airbnb rental. The City got an injunction last <br />week to stop them. <br />Director of Finance Copfer: <br />• The Bond Disclosure Requirements require we submit an annual information <br />filing, which the City did on September 25, 2018. <br />• The August reports have been sent to Council and the Administration. <br />
