Council Minutes of 11-20-2018
see that stuff as a Councilperson to understand where our budget goes and the great
resources we have hired here.
Councilwoman Hemann Chairwoman of the Environmental Control Committee:
The Environmental Control Committee met on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 8:13 p.m.
Present were committee members Hemann, Glassburn and Williamson; Council members
Brossard and Kearney; Council President Jones; Director of Safety & Service Glauner
and guests.
• Discussed was Ordinance 2018-105. An Ordinance authorizing the Mayor to
contract with Pelton Environmental Products Company to purchase a Centrifuge
Scroll (Rotating Assembly), and to encumber funds for a cost of $133,500.00, for
use at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, and declaring an emergency. Director
Glauner explained the centrifuge is the component that excludes the water from
the sludge at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. The process prepares the sludge for
transport as required by the EPA. This allows for a price reduction as transporting
liquid content is significantly higher. This will be used as a backup unit when the
original unit is down as required for maintenance. This was originally approved in
the 2018 budget. The committee voted 3-0 to recommend to Council.
AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION
No participation.
LEGISLATION
Resolution 2018-91 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its third reading.
