Ol Standards adopted. 1307.99 Penalty. <br />CROSS REFERENCES <br />Ohio Plumbing Code - see OAC 4101:2-51 <br />Water distributing pipe, tubing and Sttings - see BLDGo 1305.05(e) <br />Plumbdng.and sewer license fees - see BLDG. 1321.02 <br />\ <br />1307.01 STANDARDS ADOPTED. <br />In the interpretation of the requirements of the One and Two Family Dwelling Code <br />or the Ohio Basic Building Code, or in the design, installation or use of plumbing $xtures <br />and equipmeirt not speci$cally covered by such codes, the followinb basic p.-inciplea an3 ? <br />performance standards shall govern: <br />(a) All premises in*,.ended for human habitation, occupancy or use shall be provided <br />with a supply of potable water, neither connected with unsafe water supplies <br />nor subject to the hazards of backflow, backsiphonage ar cross connections. <br />(b) Plumbing shall be designed and adjusted to use the minimum quantity of water <br />consistent with paoper performance and cleaning. <br />(c) Devices for heating and storing water shall be so designed and installed as to <br />prevent dangers from explosion or collapse through overheating or siphoning. <br />(d) Every building wherein plumbing fixtures are installed and intended for human <br />habitation, occupancy or use on premises abutting on a street, alley or easement <br />in or for which there is a public sewer, shall have a connection with the sewer. <br />(e) Plumbing fixtures shall be made of smooth, nonabsorbent material and shall be <br />free from concealed fouling surfaces. <br />(f) The drainage system shall be cesigned, constructed and maintained so as to <br />guard against fouling, deposit of solids and clogging, and shall be equipped <br />with adequate cleanouts so arranged that the pipes may be cleaned readily. <br />(g) The piping of the plumbing system shall be of durable material, free from <br />defective workmanship and so designed and constructed as to give satisfactory <br />service for its reasonable expected life. <br />(h) Each fixture direetly connected to the drainage system shall be equipped with <br />a water-seal trap. <br />? <br />1982 Replacement
