. ?.?. ?.._.? , aw..,.?.- ?.a . ?..?. ... ?. .. _ _ . .? _ . ? . _ .?. ?.?..n? . _. .... . <br />15 One, Two and Three-Family Dwelling Code 1305.05 <br />(e) Water-distributing Pipe, Tubing and Fittings. <br />(1) Subject to the provisions of subsections (2), (3) and (4) hereof, material <br />for water-distributing pipes and tubing shall be of brass, copper, lead, <br />cast-iron, wrought iron, open hearth iron, steel or other approved material <br />with appropriate approved fi,ttings. <br />All threaded ferrous pipe and fittings shall be galvanized (zinc coated) or <br />cement lined. When used in corrosive soil, all fer.rous pipe and fittings <br />shall be coal tar enamel coated or otherwise protected in an equivalent <br />manner against external corrosion. <br />(2) No piping material shall be used to convey potable water where reaction <br />between such material and the water may cause the potable water supply <br />used for human consumption of culinary purposes to be toxic or otherwise <br />unsuitable for human consumption. <br />(3) Piping or fittings that have been used for other than potable water supply <br />shall not be used in a potable water supply system. <br />(4) All inside, underground water piping on any construction shall be covered <br />with at least six inches of sand. (Ord. 68-4. Passed 1-2-68. ) <br />(fl Exposed Exterior Masonry Walls. Exposed exterior walls of masonry <br />construction above o ade shall be faced with brick, stone or other material <br />-hereafter approved by the Board of Building Code Appeals. <br />(Ord. 62-173.
