? <br />0 <br />1309.09 BUILDING CODE 16D <br />? <br />(b) All elevator lights shall be wired to emergency lighting. <br />(c) All stairway lighting and the lights speci$ed as necessary to provide sufficient <br />illumination, and all required exait lights, shall be wired to emergency lighting <br />branch circuits. <br />(d) All fire alarm systems and annunciators shall be wired to emergency branch <br />circuits. The fi.re alarms system connected to the annunciators shall designate <br />where the alarm was set off, east, west, north or south, and on what floo r. <br />This directive is required by the Fire Safety Department of the City Fire <br />De partment. <br />(e) All office buildings that are two or more stories in height, or office buildings <br />having a population of 100 persons or more, shall be required to keep and <br />maintain emergency lighting in hallways, stairways and corridors. The lighting <br />systems shall be wired to an emergency power supply saurce to which the power <br />load will be transferred automatically and immediately upon the failure of the <br />normal power supply. The lighting requirement as specified herein shall provide <br />for sufScient illumination which shall be to the satisfaction o f the Building <br />Commissioner of the City. (Ord. 75-110. Passed 8-5-75. ) <br />1309.09 SWIMMING POOLS. <br />National Electrical Code Article 680, Section 64, is hereby added to read as follows: <br />680-64. Swimming Pools-General. <br />(a) All swimming pools shall be wired in metal rigid conduit. For all lighting and <br />power, a ground fault circuit interrupter must be used on lighting of 110 <br />volts and low voltage lighting, and shall be kept entirely independent of all <br />other wiring and electrical equipment . <br />(b) No concrete shall be poured until electrical inspection is made on grounding <br />and bonding at the pool. <br />(c) No sidewalk or deck shall be poured until electrical inspection is made of all <br />conduit and boxes. <br />(d) All wiring shall be inspected for proper wiring before the pool is turned over <br />to customers. (Oi-d. 75-110. Passed 8-5-75. ) <br />1309.10 GENERAL RESIDENTIAL OCCUPANCY. <br />National Electrical Code Article 110 Sections 35 and 36, are hereby added to read <br />as follows: <br />110-35. Lighting Requirements in Multi-Dwelling Apartment Buildings. In multi- <br />dwelling apartment buildings, all light for hallways and stairways shall be on from <br />darkness to daylight. <br />110-36. Additional Wiring Requirements. <br />(a) All residential homes shall have electric door bells or chimes installed <br />at the front door and at the back or side door, or mechanical. <br />(b) All furnaces shall be on a separate circuit with a single pole switch on the <br />furnace to turn it on or off. < <br />1982 Replacement
