16C National Electrical Code 1309.08 <br />1309.04 REQUIREMElVr S FOR MULTIPLE RESIDENCES. <br />All multiple residence buildings containing more than two suites shall be <br />wired in electrical metallic tukring or rigid metal conduit for all wirings 110 to 220 volts <br />or more. All commercial and industrial buildings shall be wired in electrical metallic <br />tubing or rigid metal conduit for all wiring 110 to 220 volts or more. <br />(Ord. 75-110. Passed 8-5-75. ) 1309.05 BRANCH CIRCUITS. <br />National Electrical Code Article 210, Branch Circuits, is amended by adding <br />Sections 210-71, 210-72 and 210-73, as follows: <br />210-71. Wall Switches. <br />At least one outlet oontrolled by a wall switch shall be provided for each habitable <br />room, kitchen, toiletroom and bathroom. A light3ng outlet shall be provided at <br />laundry trays, boilers, furnaces and other central heating devices. Three-way <br />switches shall be provided for all stairways to control lighting outlets illuminating <br />such stairways. <br />210-72. Uxtlets Required <br />Number of outlets required on general lighting and small appliance branch circuits <br />of dwelling occupancies: <br />No more than four duplex receptacle outlets per circuit of #12 Wire A. W. G. shall <br />be installed on the required appliance branch circuits, and not more than ten <br />duplex outlet per circuit #14 wire, A. W. G. shall be installed on the required <br />general ]ighting branch circuits. <br />210-73. Alumiiiizm Conchictors. <br />Aluminum conductors shall not be smaller than A. W. G. #6. <br />(Ord. 75-110. Passed 8-5-75. ) <br />1309.06 SERVICE ENTRANCE CONDUCTORS. <br />National Electrical Code Article 230, Section 42, is hereby added to read as follows: <br />230-42. Dwelling Units. Service entrance conductors shall provide a minimum of <br />100 ampere 3-wire service for all dwelling units. (Ord. 75-110. Passed 8-5-75. ) <br />1309.07 SERVICES. <br />National Electrical Code Article 230, Section 212, is hereby added to read as <br />follows: <br />230-212. Services. All new services shall be installed in rigid metal conduit, and <br />all service shall be installed in basements or first floor level only. <br />(Ord. 72-192. Passed 12-5-72. ) <br />1309.08 EMERGENCY POWER AND LIGHTING. <br />National Electrical Code Article 700, Section 23, is hereby added to read as follows: <br />700-23. EmerLrency Power and Lighting <br />(a) In multi-dwelling units with underground garages, lighting and power for <br />ventilation shall be wired to an emergency supply source to which the load <br />will be transferred automatically and immediately upon the failure of the <br />normal supply. <br />1982 Replacement
